Latest update on ISO 45001:2018

ISO 45001 has successfully passed the FDIS (Final Draft International Standard) ballot. This means that the final standard is expected to publish in March 2018.

As OHSAS 18001 will be withdrawn on publication of ISO 45001, organizations currently certified to OHSAS 18001 will have a three year period to upgrade to ISO 45001. The OHSAS Project Group has fully reviewed and endorsed ISO 45001:2018 as the replacement for OHSAS 18001:2007. Therefore, once ISO 45001:2018 has been published, the official status of OHSAS 18001:2007 will be considered as being “Withdrawn” taking account the three-year migration period.

We will continue to keep clients certified to OHSAS 18001 informed on how to upgrade to ISO 45001. This includes training courses, webinars and informative support materials.
